Longevity

There are a multitude of ways to increase one’s life span, but incorporating running in your daily living can help reduce premature mortality rates and improve cardiovascular fitness. In one study, there was a 25-40% decrease in chance of premature mortality with runners and can add approximately 3 more years to your life compared to non-runners. In another study, researchers tested the moderate level of intensity versus vigorous intensity in running to see if one or the other reduced mortality rates. Through the conclusion of the original research paper, it is shown that a more moderate level of intensity was a more effective solution for reduced mortality. It is specified that 150 minutes a week of moderate level of intensity showed the best results in men and women. Finally, one of the keys to help prolong your life is to simply be active and incorporate a cardiovascular exercise that will help reduce premature mortality.
